Estimates and Projections Australia is a small-area demographics dataset providing current-year income and population data, as well as forecast future population data. It contains updated demographic variables, such as total population and total households, for the Statistical Area Level 1 (SA1) geography. It includes estimates of the characteristics of populations, such as age and sex, and characteristics of households, such as household income.

Estimates and Projections (Australia) data product contains a range of population, household, and household income estimates variables for current year, and a select set of population variables for one-year, two-year through to twenty-year projections, at the SA1 geography; the five-year projections include population as well as household projections, at the SA1 level. These data are generally consistent with the latest ‘high level’ estimates and projections databases of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Estimates and Projections (Australia) provides updated economic information to help drive market analysis, customer prospecting and outreach, site selection modeling, retail/service network planning, and various other applications.

Whether tracking neighbourhood growth patterns, sales potential, or understanding the composition of a customer base, Estimates and Projections can help fuel an organization's decision-making systems.

Variables are updated via the process described in the Methodology section of this product guide. Specific product details are covered in the Product specifications section.
