GroundView: US Business Summary Data consists of two datasets covering all standard levels of US geography (states, counties, 5-digit ZIP Code, Designated Market Area Regions – DMARs – and down to Census Block Groups). These datasets represent counts of business establishments and employment. This information is provided using two industrial classification systems – Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes. Retail trade business and employee counts are further summarized at the more-detailed four-digit NAICS level.
The primary source of data for GroundView: US Business Summary Data is Precisely's World Points of Interest - Premium file for the United States, which contains unit record-level information about businesses in the US, as well as other location points/features.
GroundView: US Business Summary provides users with contextual data to help research business/retail opportunities, market to targeted industry sectors, and evaluate the impact of competition around sites/areas of interest.
These databases are available on a standalone basis (in MapInfo Pro or pipe-delimited text formats), or integrated into software for use in automated reporting and analytical environments.
