The 2023 release displays significant boundary changes as a result of the transition from Census 2016 to Census 2021 ASGS SA1 boundaries. This change aligns to a change across all relevant Precisely demographic products for Australia.
As alerted in the 2022 release notes, product packaging – including product table and file names within standalone compressed delivery files – were modified to align with new naming standards.
The PreciselyID lookup text file and data schema, found in the data > PreciselyID folder, were changed to include the following fields:
Field Name | Data Type (Length) |
---|---|
PBKEY | CHAR (12) |
GNAF_VINTAGE | CHAR (6) |
SA1_7DIGITCODE_2016 | CHAR (7) |
SA1_CODE21 | CHAR (11) |
The names of the first four fields of the Daytime Population file, which represent geographic attributes from Census 2021, were updated from Census 2016-based to Census 2021-based names:
sa1_code21 – Statistical Area Level 1 (SA1) code. This field now has a length of 11 characters.
sa2_code21 – Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2) code
sa2_name21 – Statistical Area Level 2 name
gcc_name21 – Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSA) name
