ADMINCODE represents the classification code assigned by a country-specific statistical office for administrative boundaries, where they exist and can be sourced. Not all features have these codes; neighborhoods and built-up areas, for example, do not have them because they are not official administrative areas.
ADMINCODE values are not unique within the product, nor are they guaranteed to be unique even within the same country. However, values are guaranteed to be unique within the same layer of the same country. Precisely tracks duplicate ADMINCODE values for each release to ensure that if there are duplicates, they are correct and can be verified as matching the codes of the statistical office. Country ISO codes and level names can be appended to create unique values, if necessary.
Because World Boundaries Premium combines multiple sources which are manually edited, ADMINCODE values may not match exactly to third-party or demographics datasets, especially given possible differences in data currency.
