Suburbs and Localities Australia data is provided in the following standard file formats:
  • MapInfo Extended Tab (.tab)
  • Pipe Delimited Text (.psv)
  • File Geodatabase (.gdb)

New in this release

No new features are introduced in this release.

Changes in this release

This release contains the following updates:

Boundary changes are based on the latest source data:
  • New Suburbs:
    • NSW: BIMLOW; BINDOOK; BELOON; BRERETON; JOORILAND; KEDUMBA; KOWMUNG; BURRAGORANG VALLEY.
  • Deleted Suburbs: None
  • Renamed Suburbs: None

Future updates

  • File naming changes: From the 2024.05 release, the file names will be in lowercase. The new file format that needs to be followed to align with the other products, will have three components - product_three character country code_table name. For example,
    • AUS_SUB will be suburbs_aus_extended.
    • AUS_SUB_DISPLAY will be suburbs_aus_display.
    • AUS_SUB_INC will be suburbs_aus_incremental.
    • AUS_SUB_CHANGELOG will be suburbs_aus_changelog.
  • Schema file changes: As part of an initiative at Precisely to provide standardised documentation and improved product interoperability, Precisely Enrich products will receive data schema document standardisations with updated column names and additional columns added. This change will occur starting in August 2024. In the Documentation folder, the template of the new standardised data schema document has been shared for an initial review.

    Please note the column definitions on the Notice tab. Some of these columns are specifically for use with Precisely Software Solutions. Other changes include the separation of the field data type and the field length into two separate columns, and all CHAR and VARCHAR field types are now represented as TEXT.
