Auto Dealers contains two Objects tables – one defining the auto dealership building boundary and a second table defining the lot boundary.
Building footprints are represented by a single or multipart polygon drawn to reflect the exact boundaries of significant buildings on a dealership lot. For most dealerships, this will be a large structure housing the sales, service, and parts operations. Recognizing that there are many different types of structures, of varying sizes, we attempted to keep the building count low and to capture larger, more-significant structures on a dealership lot. Smaller buildings, such as outbuildings, car washes, tents or other temporary structures are not depicted.
Dealership lots are the improved areas associated with the dealership property, including showrooms, service areas, car display areas, and parking lots. If there are multiple lots and/or buildings associated with a dealership that are at different locations, they will be represented as multipart polygons but will maintain the same dealership ID. Auto dealers that share property are represented by overlapping polygons.
The structure of the Objects tables for buildings and dealership lots is the same.
