What is the difference between the PROP_TYPE field in Address Fabric and the RESBUS field in Serviceability Extended Attributes (SEA)?

The PROP_TYPE field value in Address Fabric is determined through multi sourcing methods from land use, zoning, mailing features, and points of interests data.

The RESBUS field value comes from USPS delivery type indicators only.

Why are the nationwide counts of SEA and Address Fabric USA different? And why are there duplicate PreciselyIDs?

While the PreciselyID field in the Address Fabric USA product is unique, the SEA product may contain multiple records with the same PreciselyIDs. This is due to a PreciselyID representing more than one land use type. The land use information comes from tax assessment data and it is possible for addresses to have more than one land use for tax purposes.

It is also possible that a PreciselyID in Address Fabric USA may not be found in SEA for the following reasons:
  • The address does not represent a USPS residential/business indicator and
  • The address is not serviceable and
  • The address does not represent a standardized land use from tax assessment and
  • The address is neither a parent nor child record

Why are there no land use values in the PROP_ST_LANDUSE field for Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands?

Land use information is provided by property tax information. We currently do not support tax assessor information in Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
