You can relate policies to business assets and models, to capture which regulations govern business terms, applications, processes and models.
You can relate policies to assets by creating a Governs-Is Governed By relationship between a policy asset and the asset to be governed. For example, you have a "HIPAA Privacy" insurance regulation policy. You want to capture that a number of insurance-related Business Assets are governed by the "HIPAA Privacy" policy asset.
-
First, create a Relationship Type between the policy and the asset type, for example "HIPAA Privacy governs Business Term".
You must have access to the Configuration Relationships screen to create relationship types, so you might need to ask your system administrator for assistance.
-
Go to the details page for the policy asset and choose the Relations view. Locate the Relationship Type which pairs the policy to the asset with an Is Governed By relationship.
-
With the relationship type selected, click the Add button to choose which assets to group.
Alternatively, you can create the inverse of the relationship from the screen for an asset to govern. Simply choose the relation type Policy (Governs) and choose the policy asset that you wish to govern the asset by.
