The Lineage Diagram shows how your data moves and transforms between systems and is selected by default when the asset being inspected is a Technical Asset. The Impact Diagram allows you to easily evaluate the impact that any change may have on related assets and is selected by default when the asset being inspected is a Business Asset.
To open the Diagrams page, navigate to the detail page of an asset and click the Diagrams tab.
The Diagrams page provides a graphical representation of a selected asset in the context of its relationships. The diagram displays all relationships, including technical relationships between applications. You can select an asset to view its details, search for an asset by name, or apply filters to control the assets that are displayed in the diagram. By assigning colors and icons to different asset types, you can easily trace the flow of data from source to target, and see how it is used and transformed along its journey.
Impact and Lineage diagrams are built automatically when you create relationships between assets.

1) Diagram type
The Lineage Diagram shows how your data moves and transforms between systems.
The Impact Diagram allows you to easily evaluate the impact that any change may have on related assets.
The Process Diagram models the business processes of your organization with their corresponding data governance associations.
Any filters that you save will be associated with the selected diagram type.
2) Assets
The colored boxes represent assets or responsibilities. Technical users may refer to these boxes as "nodes". Within each box, assets are listed under the asset type name. On lineage diagrams, diagram assets are listed under the asset that contains the process diagram. On impact diagrams, diagram assets are not listed directly, but the asset that contains the process diagram is listed under the asset type name.
The lines linking items represent relationships. Technical users may refer to these relationships as "edges".
In an Impact diagram, the arrowhead of the line that links predicates, for example, points from parent to child. Similarly, other arrowheads always show the correct direct of flow.
Open - Displays the relevant diagram for the asset.
Open in New Tab - Displays the relevant diagram for the asset in a new tab.
Show Details - Displays the details of the asset in a new panel.
Only the Show Details option is available if you do not have read access to the selected asset, or when the selected asset item is the current asset.
3) Search
Type a search term to search for an asset within the diagram.
The search is case insensitive and will only locate assets that start with the typed text.
All levels of the asset hierarchy are included in the search and all matching items are highlighted. You can use the previous and next arrows to cycle through the search results.

Add Relationships - Displays the Add Relationships modal dialog, where you can create new relationships, provided you have selected an asset on the canvas and have the appropriate permissions. You can also right click on an asset on the canvas then select the Add Relationships option in the drop-down menu. When you return to the Impact or Lineage diagram after adding a new relationship, it you will see that it has been updated with the newly added relationships. Note: Although it is possible to create lineage relationships through the user interface, if you are adding a large number of new relationships, it is generally recommended that you use Bulk loading to create business asset relationships, or Connectors to create business to technical relationships, as this approach will generally be quicker and more accurate than manually adding individual relationships through the user interface.
