Users with administrator permissions can determine which fields should be displayed and populated as part of the definition of an asset type.

  1. From the navigation bar, select Configuration, then select the appropriate asset type. For example Configuration > Business Assets.
  2. Add a new field to a selected asset type. There are two ways to define a new field on an asset type:
    • To define fields on asset types without leaving the asset type list page, select the row that contains the asset type that you want to edit, then in the Information panel, select the Fields tab and click the Add Field button.
    • Alternatively, go to the asset type detail page by clicking the name of the asset type, then select the Fields tab and click the Add Field button.
  3. In the Add Field dialog, choose a Field Type from the list, then click Define Field.
  4. Configure the field settings as required. The settings that are available will vary depending on the selected field type.
