  1. Go to Administration > Integration > Bulk Loader.
  2. In the top right corner of the History panel, click the Add button.
  3. In the Upload a Spreadsheet Job panel, leave the default Action setting of Promotion. This means that the Business Terms will be uploaded and promoted to the Business Assets glossary.
  4. Select the Type of Business Asset: Business Term. This is the type of asset that will be uploaded. The expected spreadsheet columns are displayed. Mandatory columns for required fields are shown in bold.
  5. Click the Download Spreadsheet link to download a spreadsheet file containing the expected columns. The downloaded spreadsheet contains the correct formatting for various field types. For example, a column that corresponds to a list field is formatted in the Excel file as a drop-down list, and the list is validated against a set of values that correspond to the available list items.

Alternatively, you can create your own spreadsheet. Ensure that you include the required columns, as shown in bold in the panel.

Note: If you are creating a spreadsheet for a child asset type, the column that defines the parent asset needs to include both the name and the UID of the parent asset. When you download the required spreadsheet template this information is automatically included.
  6. Complete the spreadsheet by adding the required information. How you enter data in a column depends on the field type that corresponds to the spreadsheet column. For details on how to complete columns according to their field type, see Configuring bulk load spreadsheets. Save the spreadsheet, then return to the Data360 Govern user interface.
  7. Click Choose file to go to your spreadsheet and click Open on the Windows file navigation window. Then, click Save to bulk upload the business terms.
  8. If an Item Added or Item Changed workflow has been configured for the selected asset type or asset items, you can trigger the workflow by selecting Enable workflow for this bulk load task?.

The Load Details panel will display a list of imported records.

If there are any errors, for example if you are missing an entry in one of the bold columns, you can download the spreadsheet to investigate the errors by clicking the Export Errors to Excel button.

Tip: If the system has not refreshed immediately, you can click the Refresh button to see the results of your bulk upload.
