The Streaming Select node allows you to select fields from one node, in order to pass these fields on to another node. This can be useful when one node, such as a Data Store input node, has a large amount of fields available but you only want to enhance or analyze a few.
Many Analysis Designer nodes have select functionality, however isolating field selection into a discrete step can help you to stay organized when designing your analysis. It can also help others who did not create the analysis to achieve a better understanding.
This node performs a similar function to the Select node, but the Streaming Select node only produces and accepts streaming data.
Properties
Display Name
Specify the name of the node that is displayed on the Analysis Designer canvas.
The default value is Streaming Select.
Fields to Select
Click Add Field to select the input fields that you want to isolate.
If you want to remove a field from the select list, select the field then click Remove Field.
View SQL
Click View SQL to see the SQL produced by the node.
You may want to modify the SQL for use with the Streaming SQL node, which allows you to customize your data transformations further.
