Start SMSDSCDS

In order to trace ACS routines in an alternate SCDS, the SMSDSCDS process must be started by DIF in addition to the SMSDEBUG product. No rules member is required in the DIF parmlib dataset. The following command can be used to start SMSDSCDS:

F DIF,START SMSDSCDS

If a change is made to the alternate ACS routine logic, then SMSDSCDS must be refreshed in order to pick up the change. This is required because the alternate ACS rou- tines are loaded into storage in the DIF address space. Thus, changes to the routines to be tested required that they be reloaded via a DIF REFRESH command. The following com- mand can be issued to DIF after changes have been made to the alternate ACS routines and the updated ACS routines have been translated.

F DIF,REFRESH SMSDSCDS
Note: Refreshing SMSDSCDS will reload the alternate ACS routines for all of the // SCDSxx datasets allocated to the DIF started task. It is not possible to refresh the in-stor- age copy of the ACS routines for only some of the SCDSs. If multiple users are working with SMS/Debug and using different sets of ACS routines for testing, they should be aware that the alternate ACS routines will be reloaded by DIF any time a REFRESH SMSDSCDS command is issued.
