Purpose: The PRODUCT command can be used to set the DIF current product name. Other DIF commands that follow the PRODUCT command can now use an asterisk (*) in place of the product name, or possibly omit the product name altogether.

Syntax:
PRODUCT {product}

Comments: Any DIF command that requires the product name sets the current product name whenever a product name is specified. DIF commands that follow only require an asterisk (*) when additional information is entered after the product field.

When no other operands are required, the asterisk (*) can be ignored. For example, the REFRESH command would not require the asterisk when the current product name is set correctly.

Tip: If the current product name is set, you can omit the product name or use an asterisk (*) in subsequent DIF commands, depending on the command's requirements.

Examples: In the following example, the PRODUCT command sets the current product name to ACC. No operand is required on the REFRESH command.

F DIF,PRODUCT ACC
F DIF,REFRESH
