Syncsort Storage Management

Purpose: Any product that uses internal tables that list on-line devices may require a REFRESH command whenever a new device comes on-line. The DREFRESH command can be used to automatically refresh all products that use device tables. Syntax: DREFRESH

Comments: This command would normally be used by an operator automation product. Whenever a device comes on-line or is mounted by the system, an operator automation product can be used to issue a DREFRESH. The DREFRESH command will issue REFRESH commands for all products that use device tables.

Note: If the operating system supports the Event Notification Facility (ENF), DIF can automatically intercept devices coming on-line or going off-line. DIF can then automatically refresh the products that use device tables. The DREFRESH would not then be needed.
Examples: The following console command would issue REFRESH commands for all products that use device tables.
