This activity merges together two or more versions of a work item.

In the process flow shown above, the Work Item Merge Activity receives properties from two work item versions and combines those properties. If any two properties have similar keys but unequal values, then these values are concatenated into a string array. String array is a data structure generated when the values of the same properties are different to allow objects with the same attributes to be addressed individually.

The work item viewer for the Manual Activity following the Work Item Merge Activity must have a metadata field or fields designed to display any of the resulting work item property arrays.
