What is the purpose of Universal Data?
To open and display universal data files such as:
- ESRI ArcSDE
- ESRI Personal Geodatabase (*.MDB)
- AutoCAD DWG/DXF
- Microstation Design (*.DGN)
- ESRI ArcInfo Export (*.E00)
- USGS Spatial Data Transfer Standard (*.CATD.DDF)
- VPF NIMA/NGA (*.FT)
- Google Earth KML
You then can specify the data display options and define a location for the resulting .TAB files.
When is Universal Data active?
This command is always active.
How do I access Universal Data?
- On the HOME tab, in the File group, from the Open list, click Universal Data to open the Specify Data Source dialog box.
- On the TABLE, or the MAP tab, in the Content group, from the Open list, click Universal Data to open the Specify Data Source dialog box.
- On the LAYOUT tab, in the Page group, from the Open list, click Universal Data to open the Specify Data Source dialog box.
