What is the purpose of Split Target?
To cut up map objects into smaller parts using the currently selected objects as the cutter.
When is Split Target active?
When a Map window is active, a layer in the active map window is editable, at least one object is set as the target, and the objects that act as the cutter are selected.
How do I access Split Target?
On the SPATIAL tab, in the Edit group, click Split, and Split Target.
