The commands in the Label Lines group on the LABELS tab control how callout lines display on the map. A callout line attaches a label to its anchor point on the map. If the zoom level causes the label to become too large to fit within a region, if the label is repositioned away from its anchor point due to labels overlapping, or if you move the label from where it was originally placed, then a callout line may be added between the label and its anchor point.
The options in this group are:
- None – Do not display callout lines.
- Simple – Create a callout using a simple line that connects the label to its anchor point.
- Arrow – Create a callout using an arrow and a line that connects the label to its anchor point.
The Line Style command sets the display style, such as line color, width, and pattern, for callout lines.
