Choose a font from the drop-down list. The list displays the installed fonts that provide a symbol set. Choose Old MapInfo Symbols for vector symbols. Additionally, the Custom Symbols category lists those bitmaps you have created and placed in the directory.
MapInfo Pro ships with a collection of custom symbols, which are saved in a CUSTSYMB directory that is maintained by MapInfo Pro. The location of this directory depends largely on the administration of your computer, the version of MapInfo Pro you use, and the location of your installation directory (such as \Documents and Settings\user's login directory\Applications Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\2023\). Using the Adding User-Defined Custom Symbols instructions, you can save your own bitmaps to this directory.
If you select Custom Symbols, the Reload button and Effects check boxes display. If you choose another symbol set, the Background and Rotation options display.
