Ignore Region Objects

By default, the Ignore Region Objects check box is selected. If the box is cleared, then closed objects (regions, rectangles, rounded rectangles, and ellipses) can be used as input to the Enclose operation. The input regions will be considered as Polylines for the purpose of this operation. The effects are identical to first converting any closed objects to Polyline objects, and then using the Enclose (Polylines to Regions) command (which is located on the SPATIAL tab, in the Create group, on the Regions list).

If the selection contains objects that are not linear and are not closed (e.g., points, multipoints, collections or text objects), then the operation produces an error. If the selection contains closed objects, and the Ignore Region Objects box is selected, then these closed objects are ignored.

Note: This is a change from previous versions, where the presence of a closed object in the selection would produce an error, similar to other object types.
