You can configure a time series using the various options under the contextual
Time tab under Map.
- Time
- Enable: Click to toggle between enabling and disabling a the time series on a man.
- Map Options: Click to display the Map Options dialog. Use this dialog to configure map time options like inclusive, exclusive, time formatting, setting playback speed, etc. For details see the Map Options dialog.
- Layer Settings: Specify Time Series based on a layer with time attributes. For details see Creating a Time Series.
- Add to Map: Add time related adornments to
the map. Available options are-
- Period Title - Click to add current time period adornment to the map.
- Period Number - Click to add current time period number adornment to the map.
- Period Record Counts - Click to add current time period record count adornment to the map.
- Map Extents - Click to add full map extents adornment to the map.
- Embed Theme Legend - Click to embed a theme legend.
- Period
- Span: The length or interval of each time period. Use this to divide the full extent into time periods.
- Step: Determines the temporal distance from the start of one time period to the next. Use this to divide the full extent into time periods.
- Select: Select the current time period.
- Adjust
- Remove Empty Periods: Click to iterate through all time periods and remove time periods with no records. If the extents, span, step or snap are changed, empty time periods can be reintroduced.
- Snap: Select/de-select to turn time extent snapping On or Off. Selecting the check-box snaps the extent begin to the start of the nearest unit, and the extent end to the end of the nearest unit.
- Use Slider Span: Click to set the maps time span to the value of the time slider's custom span.
- Playback: Use the playback options to
- Play/Pause the time series.
- Move to Previous and Next time period.
- Drag the slider to a specific time period.
- Decrease and Increase the playback speed.
- Change playback direction and repeat or reverse the playback direction.
- Full Extent: Set the extents of the
date/time/datetime.
- Select Time Layer(s) from the drop-down list.
- Start: Start of the range of temporal data in the layer(s).
- End: End of the range of temporal data in the layer(s).
- Export: Export each map time period to an image. You can also create an animated GIF or a video.
