MapInfo Pro raster image support now includes the ability to load images using 32-bits per pixel (bpp) and honor per pixel transparency or translucency. This is also referred to as alpha-blending. This improves the appearance of image layers and maps. It is especially noticeable for WMS and WMTS servers that produce images with transparent backgrounds. Previously, the image was converted to 24 bpp on the fly and sometimes this resulted in the transparent pixels being displayed as black.
