The Infogix administrative console includes a feature that you can use to run a series of diagnostic health checks. If available for your application, this feature will appear under the product-specific console menu. The checks will vary, depending on the application from which you accessed the administrative console.

The Infogix health checker analyzes your product deployment for common configuration problems and functional problems. The benefits of the health checker are described below:

  • Determines if the deployment of your Infogix application conforms to pre-defined expectations.
  • Enables users to discover and resolve problems within the system without the need for a higher level of support.
  • Provides best-practice recommendations.

You can execute a series of checks or one check at a time. The option to run all health checks may take a long time. This option is recommended during lower processing periods.

The results of each check, if any, are presented as findings. A finding represents the specific name of the rule in question. Each finding has a severity level, which indicates the effect of the finding on the system or on your business.

The following severity levels exist:

Severity Description
Blocker indicates a problem that cannot be ignored
Functional impairment indicates a problem with a functional aspect of the system
Performance indicates a problem that can affect system performance
Rule Integrity indicates a problem with a rule definition that does not affect core performance
Recommendation provides a best practice tip or highlights an inactive feature that can improve performance

The list of findings includes a description for each finding, which gives a high-level explanation of why the rule appears on the list.

Some findings on the list can be ignored, for example, recommendations and some rule integrity issues. Ignored findings are removed from the list but can be restored. The ignore settings are retained at a user level.

Some rule integrity issues can be resolved from within the health checker. For example, you can delete an orphaned child rule.

Additional help text is available for many findings. This detailed help may provide additional information about a problem, offer a resolution for the problem, or suggest tips to improve performance.
