Use this screen to add a new log category or to edit an existing log category.

  1. Complete the following fields, as applicable:
    • Name

      Specify a name to describe the log category. After you save the category, you cannot change the name.

      Important: The Name field cannot be changed after saving the category.
    • Severity

      Select the Severity threshold to apply to this log category. The system logs the messages for the specified threshold as well as any messages below the specified threshold. For more information, see Severity Thresholds.

    • Log Outputs

      A log output corresponds with an appender that determines where messages are displayed. Specify one or more log outputs for a category.

  2. Click Manage Log Outputs to see a list of available log outputs. You can change the settings for an existing log output or create a new log output.
