Wildfire Risk Extreme was designed as a companion an existing Precisely product, Wildfire Risk. Wildfire Risk Extreme includes temperature, relative humidity, and maximum wind speeds under fire conditions that occur only 1 percent of the time, rather than the less-conservative 8 percent used in the baseline product, Wildfire Risk. Additionally, wind roses of predominant winds in an area provide insight into the direction from which a community is most at risk to wildfire. Also, for the first time, the threat from urban conflagration (fires that are no longer carried by wildland fuel but by the ignition of structures by other structures) is modeled.
