Set up the new Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow field in your Output definition. During processing, VeriMove writes the forwarding secondary street address line data to the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow output field only if that information does not fit in the Forwarding Street Address Line output field and processing would result in that forwarding secondary information being truncated.

The output for the address in our example displays as shown below when:

  • The forwarding address line is 50 characters in length and is larger than the Forwarding Street Address Line output field.
  • The Forwarding Street Address Line output field is defined as 25 characters in length.
  • You have defined the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow field in your Output file definition.
  • Processing would result in the forwarding secondary information being truncated (the forwarding secondary information in the example address is part of the address data beyond the defined length of 25 characters for the output field that would normally be truncated during processing).

  1. The overflow data in the Forwarding Street Address Line field is truncated.
  2. The entire forwarding address line is posted to the event log with a warning message on the truncation.
  3. VeriMove writes the forwarding secondary information, that previously would have been truncated because that forwarding secondary information was part of the data beyond the 25-character limit for the output field, to the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow output field.

The output for the address in our example displays as shown below when:

  • The forwarding address line is 37 characters in length.
  • The Forwarding Street Address Line output field is defined as 40 characters in length.
  • You have defined the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow field in your Output file definition.
  • Processing the example address shown below would not result in the forwarding secondary information being truncated (the forwarding address line, including the forwarding secondary information, can be fully written to the 40-character length Forwarding Street Address Line output field).

  1. VeriMove writes the full forwarding address line to the Forwarding Street Address Line output field.
  2. Although you defined the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow field in your Output definition, that field was not needed because the forwarding address line was 37 characters in length and could be fully written to the 40-character Forwarding Street Address Line output field. When defined in the Output definition, VeriMove only writes to the Forwarding Street Address Line - Secondary Overflow field if, and when, truncation of forwarding secondary address information would occur.
