Rather than deploying a project to various hosts through the Project Deployment
Manager, you can deploy a project manually. When you choose to manually deploy a project, the
Project Deployment Manager creates a zip file containing project files, which you then
manually copy onto the target host.
Manual deployment is required if you are deploying to a Linux host and you selected Telnet in the Security setup, or if deployment failed due to a security problem on the target host.
To deploy a project manually
-
After selecting a target host (described in Step 3: Deploy Marked Targets) select File>Prepare for Manual Delivery. A message displays advising you to regenerate files if necessary. Click OK.A message box will report successful file preparation or will report any errors that occurred during file preparation.
-
Select File>Manual Delivery. The Manual Delivery window opens.
-
Select whether to display only targets identified for manual delivery or display all targets.
-
Select a target and click Save the Selected Zip Deployment Module.
-
Browse to select a local destination for the zip file.
-
Transfer the zip file to the target host manually, or use FTP or other delivery mechanism to transfer the zip file. Unzip or unjar the file into the target project directory on the target host. Note that the files must be copied to the correct directory, which is the directory identified on the Project Deployment Manager window as the Target Project Directory.
