Dynamics 365 has a feature that allows plug-ins to log information to the Plug-in Trace Log entity. You can use this feature to view the trace information.

To enable plug-in trace logging

  1. In Dynamics 365, navigate to Settings > Administration > System Settings > Customization.

  2. Set Plug-in and custom workflow activity tracing to All.

To view the plug-in trace records

  1. To view the Plug-in Trace Log records, navigate to Settings > Plug-in Trace Log. You will see some logging records. Go to Step 5. Sometimes the Plug-in Trace Log item does not show up after you enabled logging. In that case, go to Step 2.

  2. If the Plug-in Trace Log item does not show up, select Advanced Find.

  3. In the Look for drop-down box, select Plug-in Trace Logs.

  4. Click Results. You will see some logging records.

  5. Select the record that you want to view. The plug-in trace info is displayed in the Message Block.

  6. When you are done with tracing, turn off the plug-in trace log option.
