The Director System Manager is a secure, network-based administrative tool that allows you to control and monitor the activity of Director, cleanser, and matcher servers.
The Director System Manager runs on the Windows operating system but can be used to create and manage Directors and servers on both Windows and Linux hosts without requiring drive mapping to those hosts.
You can open the Director System Manager from either the Control Center's Advanced > Tools menu or from the Precisely program group on the Start menu.
You use the Director System Manager to:
- Set up hosts on which Directors and servers run
- Create, modify, and remove Directors
- Create, modify, and remove cleanser, and matcher servers
- Start and stop servers
- Investigate project and server details
- Watch servers
Note:
- The Director System Manager controls only those servers created in a specific format and location. Control of existing servers varies depending on the version of the Director with which they were created.
- Servers created with version 12 of the Director are highlighted in red in the Director System Manager. Several context menu options are unavailable for these servers.
- Servers created prior to version 12 of the Director cannot be controlled through the Director System Manager. Use the Director Console, which is the system management component supported prior to version 12, to control these servers. The Director Console is shipped with version 17 of the Director for your convenience.
