If you are setting up a Linux host, you must log into the host using the Security tab of the Setup window.
To set up a Linux host
- Click the Security tab of the Setup window.

Select the connection type, either SSH, which is the default, or Telnet. If connecting using Telnet, ensure that the TS_QUALITY environment variable has been set in your .cshrc (csh) or your .profile (sh) in your home directory on the Linux host.
Note: If you are connecting using SSH and SSH has not been set up on your user account, refer to Setting Up SSH for more information.
- Enter the host name or IP address.
- Enter a user name (login ID) for this host.
- Enter and confirm your password (for a Telnet connection) or your passphrase (for an SSH connection). The default passphrase is trillium.

For an SSH connection, enter the Private Key file you created when you built your SSH key. A default Private Key file is located in:
- Windows Server: C:\Program Files\Trillium Software\MBSW\17\tsq\default_keys
- Client: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Trillium Software\17\default_keys
- Enter a port to be used for the connection, or select Default to use the default port, which is port 22.
- Click Add. A network search runs to find the specified host and the host is added to the host list.
- Click Verify Host Connection.
- To add another host, click New and repeat the previous steps.

When all connections are set up and tested, click OK. The Director System Manager main window opens.
Note: The Security tab permits access to Linux hosts for the sole purpose of performing secure Director functions. When you exit the Director System Manager, the settings in the Security tab are not saved.
