You can create multiple cleanser and matcher servers for a project by cloning a server. Using multiple cleansers and matchers improves performance and allows for failover if a server becomes unavailable.

Cloned servers will share project resources (settings files, DDLs, postal tables, and so on) but will use separate log and exceptions files. The Director System Manager will create a separate connector configuration file (trillium.cfg) and token configuration file (config64.tbl) for each server.

Each cleanser and matcher uses a unique log file. If you create multiple cleanser or matcher servers for a project, and if those cleansers or matchers reside on the same machine, you must create separate log directories to be used for each cleanser and matcher.

To clone a cleanser or matcher

  1. Click the Service Directory tab and select a host.
  2. Right-click the server to be cloned and select Clone. The Clone window opens.
  3. Enter a server name and display name and click OK. The new server’s configuration files, data directory and log directory names will be pre-pended with the server name, for example cleanser2.Trillium.cfg and cleanser2.config.tbl.
  4. Click Refresh to view the new server in the list of servers.
