When installing and configuring Director servers, consideration must be given to directory structure, security setup, and other operating system-specific issues.
When running on Linux, note the following:

By default, the SERVICESCRIPTS variable in the trilsecure.sh points to
TrilliumSoftware/bin, but it can be modified to point to a directory other thanbin. -
Menu enablement is verified before an attempt. On Linux, you typically have many users on the same machine, and they may have their own installations, and their own services. The Director System Manager allows you to see another user’s Directors, cleansers, and matchers, but for security purposes it does not allow you to stop, start, or modify them. Since the act of creation or modification are examples of secure acts, you are required to log in and authenticate your security through the Director System Manager Security tab before you can act on servers. Until then, your menus for those functions will be disabled.The connection between running or stopping services that belong to you is tied to “your” authorized_keys file and the “forced command” trilsecure.sh script that it points to (for the specific key entry). As long as that Director, cleanser or matcher is there, then the menu is enabled.
