To tailor Trillium Quality for Dynamics to suit your processing needs, you may choose to modify entity forms (as described on Modifying Entities, Forms, and Roles) and the Trillium Quality for Dynamics web resource XML file. During development and testing, you may find it useful to isolate these changes in a separate solution. When you are ready to transition to a production environment, export the customized solution and import it into your production environment.
Isolating customizations in a separate solution also allows migration to future versions of Trillium Quality for Dynamics, as customizations can be more easily migrated.
To create a customized solution
(Optional) In CRM, select Settings > Customizations > Publishers, click New and create a publisher to be used with Trillium Quality for Dynamics. This is useful for identifying Trillium Quality for Dynamics-related changes. Use an identifiable prefix, such as tss.
Select Settings > Solutions and click New.
Enter a display name, publisher (optionally, the newly created publisher), version, and description. Click Save.
In the left pane of the form, select Entities, then click Add Existing.
Select the entities that you will want to modify in this solution. Depending on your business needs, select Account, Customer Address, Contact and Lead.
Click OK. The Missing Required Components window opens.
Consult your system administrator to determine whether to include required components. Click OK.
Select Web Resources, then click Add Existing.
Select tss_webresources and click OK.
Click Save and Close, and publish the customizations.
Use this solution when performing the steps outlined in Modifying Entities, Forms, and Roles and when making modifications to the Trillium Quality for Dynamics web resource XML file. When development and testing are complete, export the solution as a managed package and import it into your production environment.
