PREPARE prompts you to put in the specified directory all the packages such as Add-Ons, SAINT packages, or Support Packages required for the upgrade.

To place packages in the specified directory

  1. Copy the file EXxxxxxx.SAR to directory /usr/sap/trans.

    Note: xxxxxx is the Add-On version based on the Basis/CRM version. For example, EX837701.SAR is the Add-On for CRM 7.0 Basis 7.01.

  2. Log on as user sapsid adm.

  3. Navigate to the directory /usr/sap/trans.

  4. Enter the following command to unpack the archive:

    SAPCAR -xvf EXxxxxxx.SAR

  5. Verify that the unpacked file is in the EPS Inbox of your transport directory (/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in).

Note: When you select Add-Ons in the IS_SELECT phase, the corresponding package should appear as the default value.
