You can use the Web Service Testing tab to create a reference match request, using the request fields selected on the Matcher Input/Output Fields tab. (To create a window match request, see Testing Window Matching.)

To test your current reference match request configuration

  1. Using the Matcher Input/Output Fields tab, select the input fields for your reference match request, as described in Configuring Test Requests (TSI).

  2. Click the Web Service Testing tab and select the Matcher tab.

Note: The Matching Type defaults to the currently configured match type (reference or window match). If you will be loading a saved request of a different type, select the matching type and click Load Request. as described in Saving and Reusing Test Data.
  3. Click Create Request. The Input Matcher Data window opens, listing the currently selected matcher fields.

  4. Enter data for one record (the match record) in the top grid and click Add Record. The match record is added as the first record in the lower grid. This is the record against which other records will be compared. The values in the top grid are retained, allowing you to create input records using some or all of the same values.

For reference matches, two fields are always returned:

    • MATCHER_USER_KEY, which is a unique identifier for each matching record. (See below for more information on MATCHER_USER_KEY values.)

    • PATTERN, which is the pattern ID constructed according to rules established in your Trillium project.

These fields are returned only for matching records. Non-matching records are not returned.

  7. To view the results as name/value pairs, click View Results. The Matching Results window opens. Click OK to close the results window.

  8. Optionally, change the test data, either by clicking Edit Request or by manually editing the request, and retest, as described in Saving and Reusing Test Data.
