You can edit external data range properties that control how the Trillium data and metadata displays in a worksheet, including how Excel refreshes data.

Note: For more information about working with external data ranges, see the Microsoft Office Excel documentation.

To edit usage properties

  1. In Excel, on the Data tab, click Existing Connections. The Existing Connections window opens.

  2. Select the connection with which you want to work.

  3. Click Open and then click Properties. The Connection Properties window opens.

  4. Select the Usage tab for the refresh options. The default settings are loaded.

  5. Modify the Refresh control properties as needed to manage when and how the query is refreshed.

Note: (OLE DB only) Each time data is refreshed, the data connection is used, and a license token is consumed against the client system.
  6. Modify the OLAP Server Formatting, OLAP Drill Through, and Language properties as needed.

  7. Click OK to save the settings and close the window.
