Perform this procedure to run a query after its data connection is configured.

To run a query using an existing OLE DB data connection

  1. In Excel, click Data > Existing Connections. The Existing Connections window opens.

  2. On the Connections tab, select the connection to the query you want to run.

Note: Each connection corresponds to a single query.
  3. Click Open. The Import Data window opens.

  4. Click Properties. The Connection Properties window opens.

  5. On the Definitions tab, check that your original properties are still valid and make changes as necessary.

For example, if you selected Save password the first time you ran the query, make sure the box is selected and that your password entry displays in the Connection string section.

  6. Click OK to save the settings and close the window.

  7. To run the query and import data, in the Import Data window click OK.
