OLE DB data connections are used to locate, log on to, and run queries against external data sources. Before you run a query for the first time, you must specify a data connection to the repository (the data source) where the query (table definition) resides. Therefore, you need a connection to the Trillium repository.

Note: The OLE DB Reporting Adapter (32-bit) is installed with the Trillium software. A 64-bit version is available with the Trillium installation package, although it must be installed separately. For more information, see the Trillium DQ Installation Guide.
