Perform this procedure to run a query after its data connection is configured.

To run a query using an existing ODBC data connection

  1. In Excel, select a cell in an open worksheet and click Data > Existing Connections. The Existing Connections window opens.

  2. On the Connections tab, under Connection files on this computer, select the connection to the query you want to run.

Note: Each connection corresponds to a single query and a specific repository.
  3. Click Open. The Import Data window opens.

  4. (Optional) To modify the query:

    1. Click Properties to open the Connection Properties window.

    2. Click the Definitions tab and make changes as necessary to the query syntax in the Command text field.

    3. Click OK to save the settings and close the window.

  5. To run the query and import data, in the Import Data window click OK. If prompted, enter your password to log on to the data source.
