ODBC connections are used to locate, log on to, and run queries from a Trillium repository to a third-party data consumer such as Excel, QlikView, and Tableau.

The Repository Manager and Control Center do not have to be installed on the system where the ODBC Data Provider is installed and the DSNs are created, although the instance of Excel you use must reside on the system on which you create the DSN.

Note: Both 32- and 64- bit versions of the ODBC data provider can be installed. You install the 32-bit version when you install the Trillium software. For more information and to install 64-bit ODBC data provider, see the Trillium DQ Installation Guide.
