The Parser Definition tables contain word/phrase definitions and pattern information. These tables are used by the Customer Data Parser and Postal Matchers to identify the components of the input data.

There are two categories of Parser Definition tables:

  • Standard Definition Tables. These tables include standard definitions for last names, business names, recode information, and patterns for name and address components. Standard, country-specific tables are supplied with the program. File names for standard definition tables use the convention xxCDPRUL.win/unx, where xx is the 2-character country code. Standard Definition tables are read-only.
Note: Standard Definition table for the Standard JP Postal Matcher is JPCDMRUL.win/unx.
  • Customized Definition Tables. These tables contain user-defined definitions. The Parsing customization process combines entries from the standard definition table and customized definition table into one table that is used by the Parser or Postal Matchers. File names for custom definition tables use the following conventions: xxUSERCDP.win/unx for Customer Data Parser and Postal Matcher tables and xxBDPRUL.win/unx for Business Data Parser tables, where xx is the 2-character country code.
Note: Customized Definition table for the Standard JP Postal Matcher is JPUSERCDM.win/unx.
