Use the following procedure to copy a join project. Copying is useful in situations where you want to reuse a project configuration with new input entities thereby making the project creation process more efficient and less error prone.

For example, suppose you joined Policy Type table (entity ID 3) with Catastrophe Date table(5) and then joined the resultant inner join with Catastrophe Information(2) table. In the next month, you have the same set of files in the repository as entities 60, 61 and 62. In this situation, you can simply copy the join project created for entities 3,5 and 2 and reuse it for entities 60, 61 and 62.

When you copy a join project, the Entity Business Rules and Attribute Business Rules of the output join entities are copied over from the original to the copied project.

To Copy a Join Project

  1. In the Discover > Analysis tab, expand the Join Projects node. Then, select the join project you want to copy.
  2. Right-click and select Copy Project from the drop-down menu options.

The Copy Join Projects window opens.

  3. Select Change the project's input entities option.

  4. For each of the current input, map the appropriate new input.
  5. Click OK to save your changes.

A copy of the project is created and listed in the Join projects node.

  6. Rename the project.
  7. Verify that the all Entity Business Rules and Attribute Business Rules of the output join entities are correctly copied over.
