You can delete library entities if they are no longer needed. During this procedure you are prompted to disassociate the library entity from all associated real entities.

When you delete a library entity, any library EBRs and attributes contained in the entity are also deleted. To preserve the rules and attributes, disassociate the entity during the deleting process. The derived EBRs will remain in the real entity as stand-alone business rules.

Note: You must have Delete privileges on a library entity to delete it. You can simultaneously delete multiple library entities.

To delete a library entity

  1. Open an Icon View of all library entities.
  2. Right-click a library entity you want to delete and select Delete. To delete multiple library entities, select the library entities, then right-click and select Delete. The Delete Entity window opens.
  3. Click the Disassociate box for each real entity that you want to disassociate from the library entity. Use the following guidelines:
    • If you disassociate a library entity from a real entity, the library entity is deleted from the Library, and the current version of the rules remain in the real entity, as stand-alone business rules.
    • If you do not disassociate a library entity from a real entity, the library entity is deleted, along with the rules and attributes it contains. The derived EBRs will also be deleted from any real entities that were associated with the library entity.
  4. Click Finish.
  5. Refresh the view, and confirm the entity changes display.
