You can view categories and subcategories and modify their names in the Add/Edit Category window from the Entities tab. You can also delete them. When you delete a category, all subcategories in that category are deleted.

Note:
  • When you delete a category or subcategory that has been applied to one or more rules, the category or subcategory will automatically be removed from those rules.
  • Comma (,), colon (:), and semi colon (;) characters cannot be used in category and subcategory names. Spaces are supported.

To view, edit, and delete categories and subcategories

  1. From the Discover bar, right-click the Entities tab and select Manage categories.Alternatively, in the Control Center ribbon, click the Rules icon

    and then select Manage Categories

    The Add/Edit Category window opens. Categories display in the Categories column in the order they were added. If necessary, scroll to see all categories.

  2. To view subcategories associated with a category, click the category name. The Subcategories column populates.
  3. To edit a category name:
    1. Select the category you want to edit.
    2. Below the Categories column, click Edit.
    3. In the Edit Category window, edit the category name as needed.
    4. Click OK. The category displays with the updated name.
  4. To edit a subcategory name:
    1. Select a category.
    2. In the Subcategories column, select the subcategory you want to edit.
    3. Below the Subcategories column, click Edit.
    4. In the Edit subcategory window, edit the name as needed.
    5. Click OK. The subcategory displays with the updated name.
  5. To delete a category or subcategory, select it, then click Delete under the associated column. If the category or subcategory is associated with any business rules, you are alerted to this and can click OK to continue or Cancel to stop the deletion.
