You check business rule compliance for one or more entities in a repository, from either a metadata List View or the Compliance Check window.

Compliance results are based on a rule's last analyzed state. Therefore, before running the compliance check, ensure all enabled rules in the entity or entities you want to check have been analyzed.

See Business Rule Compliance Checks for more information about how compliance works.

Check compliance in the List View

Examine compliance for a single entity

To examine compliance for a single entity

  1. Do one of the following to open a List View of entity metadata:
    • In the Navigation View, right-click an entity and select Drill down to metadata.
    • In the Summary Data View for an entity, click Entity Metadata from any tab.

A List View of metadata for the entity opens.

  2. Note the BR Compliance % value. The value represents the number of passing EBRs divided by the total number of EBRs enabled and applied to the rows of the current entity.

Examine compliance for all entities in the repository

To examine compliance for all entities in the repository

  1. In the Navigation View, right-click the Entities tab and select Drill down to entities.

    The Entities List View opens.

  2. Sort the List View on the BR Compliance % column and compare the compliance of all entities.

Check compliance in the Compliance Check window

Examine compliance for one or more attributes in an entity

To examine compliance for one or more attributes in an entity

  1. In the Navigation View, right-click an entity from either the Entities tab or a project (other than a Joins project), including the input to a Quality project.
  2. Select Check Entity Compliance.

The Compliance Check window opens. The view synchronizes and displays an icon next to the entity name. The color of the icon indicates its compliance status, as follows:

    • Red exclamation mark — At least one EBR or ABR failed compliance.
    • Green check — All EBRs and ABRs in associated attributes passed compliance.
  3. To view compliance metadata, click More Details.

Compliance Summary Details display for the entity and associated attributes. Note the details for the entity, as follows:

    • Compliance % is the percentage of enabled EBRs to pass compliance.
    • Coverage % is the percentage of EBRs enabled for the entity.

In the following example, the entity Customer Master contains three enabled EBRs, so the Coverage % is 100. Two of the rules passed compliance and one failed, which gives the entity a Compliance % of 66.

Examine compliance for multiple entities in a repository

To examine compliance for multiple entities in a repository

  1. In the Navigation View, right-click the Entities tab and select Check entity compliance.

The Compliance Check window opens. The view synchronizes each entity and displays a compliance icon next to each entity name.
