You check business rule compliance for a single attribute or for all attributes in an entity, from either a metadata List View or the Compliance Check window.

Compliance results are based on a rule's last analyzed state. Therefore, before running the compliance check, ensure all enabled rules in the attribute or attributes you want to check have been analyzed.

See Business Rule Compliance Checks for more information about how compliance works.

Check compliance in the List View

Examine compliance for one or more attributes in an entity

To examine compliance for a single attribute.

  1. Do one of the following to open a List View of attribute metadata:
    • In the Navigation View, right-click an attribute and select Drill down to metadata.
    • In the Summary Data View for an attribute, click Attribute Metadata from any tab.

A List View of metadata for the attribute opens.

  2. Note the BRCompliance % value. The value represents the number of passing ABRs divided by the total number of ABRs enabled and applied to the rows or values of the current attribute.

Examine compliance for all attributes in an entity

To examine compliance for all attributes in an entity.

  1. Open a List View of all attributes in an entity:
    • In the Navigation View, right-click an entity and select Drill down to attributes.
    • In the Summary Data View for an entity, click the About tab, expand Source Properties, and click Attribute Count.

An Entity Member Attributes List View opens.

  2. Sort the List View on the BR Compliance % column and compare the compliance of all attributes.

Check compliance in the Compliance Check window

Examine compliance for one or more attributes in an entity

To examine compliance for one or more attributes in an entity.

  1. In the Navigation View, right-click the entity that contains the attribute(s) you want to check from the Entities tab or a project (other than a Joins project), including the input to a Quality project.
  2. Select Check entity compliance.

The Compliance Check window opens. The view synchronizes and displays an icon next to the entity name. The color of the icon indicates its compliance status, as follows:

    • Red exclamation mark — At least one EBR or ABR failed compliance.
    • Green check — All EBRs and ABRs in associated attributes passed compliance.
  3. Click More Details.

Compliance Summary Details display for the entity and all associated attributes.

  4. Scroll through the Attribute Compliance Summary Detail table to view compliance and coverage percentage for each attribute:
    • Compliance % is the percentage of enabled ABRs to pass compliance.
    • Coverage % is the percentage of ABRs enabled for the entity.

In the following example, the entity Customer Master contains the attribute Phone. Phone contains ten rules. Only two of the rules are enabled, so the Coverage % is 20. Only one of those enabled rules passed compliance, so the Compliance % is 50.

  5. To sort column order, click the arrow next to the column names. The arrow changes to show the sort order—up for ascending and down for descending.
