When you create a project, you need to specify the input entity for the first process in the project. For example, if you specify "USinput" for the input entity in the project, TS Quality runs the first Transformer using "USinput" as input. Subsequent processes in the project use output from the previous process so that you do not need to specify each input and output entity. You can specify multiple input entities for a name and address project.

Note: If your Trillium Quality batch project includes a Database Read/Write process, includes an ODBC data source that uses an ODBC driver (database adapter) and the Vendor-Supplied ODBC Adapter, and you run the exported batch script in a Linux environment (Trillium server installed on a Linux system), the batch script will fail. Validating the project’s database settings will return an error and will not complete. This scenario is supported only when the Trillium server is installed on a Windows system.

To select input entities

  1. Select the input entities to include in the project and click >. You can also double-click the entities to add to the project.
    • By default, entities that were created previously as the output of a Quality process are omitted from the selection list. If you prefer to include them, select the Display all entities check box to list all entities.
    • Use the Filter field to filter the entities in the list. For example, if you are looking for the entities that were created in 2011, enter "2011" in the Filter field. If you are looking for dynamic entities only, enter "dynamic" in the field.
    • When used for real-time processing, Name and Address projects can include only one input entity in the cleansing flow. Selecting multiple entities will display a message advising you that the project will not be suitable for real-time deployment. If the extra input entity will be an input to a Reference Matcher, and you will configure the project so the Reference Matcher will be the first process in your project, you can ignore this message.
    • Click and drag the row in the Selected Entities list to change the order in which the entities are processed.
    • If you select a dynamic entity that has over 500 rows and has not been regenerated, by default, the first 500 data rows in the source are used to generate the associated flat file. This flat file can be regenerated with a lesser or greater number of rows by regenerating the input data.
  2. Click Next.
Note: If you select one or more entities associated with projects in which the data processing option was set to minimize disk space, a window opens alerting you that the new project will use the same option. Click Yes to continue or No to select other entities. If necessary, you can change this option after you create the project. For information, see Minimize Disk Space and Maximize Performance.

The Countries window opens, displaying a list of available countries that have a country-specific project template. Go to the next procedure to select countries.
