A Decision Point can be inserted anywhere in a process flow and lets you use only the passing rows in the following processes.

To insert a Decision Point process

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the process for which you want to split the input and select Insert new process. The Create Process window opens.
  2. In Process Selection, select Decision Point and select the Configure Now check box.
  3. Click OK. The Options tab of the Decision Point process opens.
  4. Enter the description for the new output.
  5. Create a condition. There are three ways to do this:
  6. Click Finish.
  7. Run the Decision Point process. The condition will be applied and the output will be split to the passing and failing rows.
  8. Once the data is split, you can analyze each output and examine the data in detail (right-click and select Analyze). If you want to run business rules against the output or monitor trend, create an Analysis process.
