Effective on March 3, 2020, Taiwan’s existing 3+2 digit postal codes have been replaced with a new set of 3+3 digit postal codes. As a result, the new Trillium Global Address Verification (GAV) tables have changed to the new format. Trillium Software must be updated to use the new tables. This topic explains how to process Taiwan addresses in this new format.
Change type | Description |
---|---|
Introduced in version 17.3 | Added a new postal code system for Taiwan. |
The change to the Taiwan postal code system supports more fine-grained delivery section codes. The first 3-digit Administrative District Code remains unchanged. The last 3-digit Delivery Section Code is changed from the original 2-digits.
- You must install the new tables (tw_post_glob.tbl, tw_ddl_glob.tbl) with the new 3+3 digit postal codes.
Output Attributes
When you use the new table, you will see the following differences in the output attributes:
- Postal codes returned in the pr_post_code attribute will now be 6 digits.
